Edgar Tica's Story

Jewelry from Cusco, Peru

The story of Edgar Tica begins with the founder. The jewelry’s namesake, Edgar Tica, comes from the founding designer. Born in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, in a small town near Ollantaytambo, Edgar began his journey in the world of jewelry at a young age. He started as a silver polisher in a workshop in Urubamba, eventually rising to the position of jeweler.

To pursue formal training, he moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he studied at several jewelry institutes to refine his artistic talent. There, he had the privilege of learning under European master jewelers who had migrated to South America decades earlier. These artisans—experts in fine stone setting, gem cutting, and classic high jewelry techniques—instilled in Edgar a refined and rigorous vision of the craft.

Under their guidance, Edgar specialized in high jewelry design, lost-wax casting, and fine French-style stone setting, blending artistic sensitivity with technical precision. His style merges European high jewelry traditions with Andean aesthetics, reflecting a harmony between cultural heritage and international sophistication.

Returning to Cusco

After four years of study, Edgar returned to his native region, Cusco, to open a fine jewelry store. His work reflects discipline, creativity, and honesty. This website serves as an online jewelry store featuring his wedding jewelry and engagement rings. It complements his physical store located in the historic center of Cusco.
